My Approach

My Approach

I work with children, teens and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression and symptoms related to trauma.

  • Anxiety:  Like a constant buzzing of unsteadiness in your mind, making you doubt every action, thought and feeling. Always having a pit in your stomach from it. Your heart rate feels high, like you are running a marathon.

  • Depression: The sense that energy is being sucked, drained or squeezed out of you leaving you with nothing left to give. You can't get up and get going because there's no fuel left in the tank. There is a dark cloud following you around that you cannot escape.

  • Trauma: Events in the past, large or small, which continue to impact you today. Red hot memories, hot and cold emotions that get stuffed in a box and seep into day to day life.

Format of Sessions

In sessions we will:

  • Hear your story in a way where you feel safe and understood

  • Determine the underlying roots of your current struggles

  • Develop new coping strategies that you feel confident using and which bring you relief

  • Build upon and strengthen your existing qualities

  • Reduce the vividness and emotional impact of distressing experiences, while gaining insights

  • Use these new insights, healing and strengthened qualities to create the future you deserve

Healing is Within Your Power

Healing is the process of acceptance by creating space for the body and mind to heal itself. To leave the past in the past. I can help guide this process and help you see that opportunity for change is directly within your power. My number one priority is our relationship. I strive to create a space for you that is based on safety, trust and non-judgement.

My Approach

In Person
or Virtual

The pandemic has opened up the value of virtual therapy. Engaging in virtual therapy allows you to reduce the barriers getting to the appointment and allows you to be in your most comfortable and safest space to engage in your journey. I am able to see clients both virtually and in person to meet the needs of all those that honour me with their story.

I wish to acknowledge and honour the land upon which I reside as the historic and Traditional Territory of the Anishinabek Nation. I recognize and thank The People of the Three Fires, known as Ojibway, Odawa, and Pottawatomie Nations. And further give thanks to the Chippewas of Saugeen, and the Chippewas of Nawash, known collectively as the Saugeen Ojibway Nation. I strive to rise to the calls of Truth and Reconciliation
